NOVOS® move – Portable sensors with CO2 traffic light function
Irregular ventilation can quickly lead to increased CO2 concentrations indoors, which has been proven to promote the spread of potentially harmful aerosols. Especially in places where many people are gathered, demand-based air exchange is crucial for reducing the risk of infections (e.g. COVID-19). Using the traffic light principle, the "NOVOS move" room sensors from Thermokon provide reliable and easily recognisable information about air quality and CO2 content. A practical stand allows the sensors to be placed within sight at any time.
"Aerosols are a possible transmission path of the new Corona virus (COVID-19). Aerosols spread quickly throughout the entire room, especially in closed indoor spaces. Regular ventilation by shock and cross ventilation or via ventilation systems in the rooms can significantly reduce the risk of infection with SARS-CoV-2." The risk of infection can be remedied by so-called CO2 sensors, which continuously measure the CO2 content of room air through an integrated sensor. According to the recommendations of the Indoor Air Hygiene Commission (IRK), indoor air quality is considered “good”, if the CO2 content in the room does not exceed a value of 1250 ppm (parts per million).
However, especially in lessons or during meetings, it is not always possible to keep a constant eye on the measured values and to recognize the right time to ventilate the room. For this reason, our CO2 sensors are equipped with an intelligent and easy to understand traffic light function (TLF).
A traffic light system for monitoring air quality
The room sensors "NOVOS 3 move". "NOVOS 5 move" and "NOVOS 7 move" from Thermokon can help to easily indicate the air quality. By means of an integrated CO2 sensor, the devices continuously measure the CO2 content of the air and thus offer a simple, low-cost and effective solution for demand-oriented ventilation.
Colored LEDs or displays help to visualize the current room air quality. For example, the colours green (CO2 content less than 750 ppm), yellow (between 750 and 1500 ppm) and red (more than 1500 ppm) indicate, when the indoor air quality no longer meets the recommended specifications by the IRK – a quick glance at the device is therefore sufficient to determine whether the room should be ventilated or not.
Practical desk display for flexible positioning in any location
The high-quality aluminium desk display, on which the "NOVOS move" room sensors are already attached, is also sophisticated. This allows flexible positioning within sight, so that persons are always aware of the room air quality. When people change rooms often, e.g. in the course of everyday school life, the display unit and sensor can be taken to another room without any problems and can be quickly and easily put back into operation there thanks to the plug & play principle. A power supply for standard plugs is already fitted to the sensors.
The room sensor "NOVOS" offers numerous other versions, also for fixed wall mounting, such as "NOVOS Touch" and "NOVOS 7" with up to four integrated sensors for simultaneous measurement of temperature, humidity, CO2 and VOC.
