Electronic frost protection thermostat for temperature monitoring of air/hot water heat exchangers to prevent damage to the ventilation system. The temperature measurement is typically carried out by a fast-response sensor in the outlet of the heat exchanger. When the set limit value is exceeded, the TFRe overrides the original control signal of the heating valve to a larger valve opening in order to prevent freezing. If the temperature drops further, the fan is stopped for system protection and the control unit gets an alert. For temperature detection in the water outlet of the heat exchanger a fast-response sensor (e.g. TF14 with KL4VA) should be used (not in delivery).
